Bug Game? Come Play!

Tue Aug 18, 2009, 5:56 PM
If you visit [link] and check out Recent Rambles, you'll find Challenge Game #1 ... come on in and play along! It's the first of a series of quick, fun and easy games that I'll be running on the website, to help people hone their intuitive skills. We're having fun so far, hope you can join us.

Leg Update: We thought it got infected from the c-walker boot. However, a visit with the doc today reveals that it's most likely not an infection, but a return of the pyoderma gangrenosum, due to trauma from the fall and the boot.

But we caught it early, and this time know what we're dealing with.

The ankle and knee are much better, though.

Mundane Musings, or just an update

Sat Aug 15, 2009, 5:28 AM
This part's not mundane at all:

Did you know you can help the animals at NY Wildlife Rescue, including many lovely birds of prey like you see in my Gallery photos, without it costing you a penny? Visit their website at [link] and click Links to find information on the IGive program and sign up. It's safe and totally free; the money comes from the vendors who have signed up for the IGive mall. You can also earn a penny per search by using NYWildlife's IGive search page ... [link] ... as your search engine. I have made it my browser home page to remind me to search through IGive.

Okay, the just an update part....

Good news on the ankle. A follow up led to another complete set of x-rays and the specialist determined that the fractures the initial ones showed (she thought they were fractures, too, but they were apparently just bad x-rays) were only shadows. I have a lot of soft tissue damage to ankle and knee (mostly ankle), but nothing's broken. What a relief.

I'm wearing a "C-Walker", or Bledsoe Boot. ... [link] ... I'm gradually getting used to it and it allows me to walk on the foot without pain. The only problem is that I have to wear it 24 x 7 and it's causing damage to the pyoderma gangrenosum ... [link] ... scar because no air is getting to the leg. On Monday I'm going to call the specialist to see if I can start taking it off at night. I don't want any MORE setbacks.

I've been writing more again. Submitted one article yesterday and, once my morning chores are done today, I'll be editing and recycling some other articles and trying to find a market that might be interested. A lot of my writing can be found through my website ... [link] ... if you're interested. If you have writing samples online, feel free to leave a comment with a link at the bottom of the "Writing" page. Maybe it'll generate more visitors for you. :-)

I love to write, though what I love to write isn't really what the majority of the people who are buying work are interested in buying. I could spend all day just doing free-form writing, blogging, musing on things like animals, nature, animal rescue, the paranormal ... the list goes on. Marketing work like that is a lot of, well, work, though, because the markets are limited. But like everything else in my life, "slow and steady".

So ... slowly, and steadily, back to work. Have a good weekend!
